We are looking for a Fleet Manager to oversee company fleet operations and guide programs that improve safety, reliability, and cost control across a multi-state service network. Based in Indianapolis, Indiana, this position partners with internal leaders and external vendors to align vehicle strategy with operational priorities, financial goals, and compliance expectations. The role is well suited for someone who can combine analytical decision-making with strong cross-functional collaboration to enhance fleet performance and support long-term business needs.
Job Responsibility:
Direct fleet planning and day-to-day program oversight, including vehicle acquisition, assignment, service scheduling, fuel management, repair coordination, disposal, and replacement timing
Work with enterprise partners to carry out standardized fleet initiatives, supplier strategies, and operating guidelines across the organization
Establish and refine fleet policies and procedures that promote consistency, regulatory adherence, and responsible spending
Coordinate with Risk and Safety teams to strengthen driver eligibility practices, accident response, corrective actions, and vehicle-related compliance standards
Monitor fleet regulatory obligations such as licensing, registration, inspection status, driver documentation, telematics oversight, and audit preparedness
Review fleet performance data to assess cost of ownership, maintenance trends, fuel consumption, downtime, utilization levels, safety incidents, and supplier effectiveness
Identify and implement improvements that increase efficiency, lower operating costs, enhance driver safety, and improve the overall user experience
Manage vendor relationships with leasing partners, manufacturers, upfit providers, maintenance networks, fuel programs, and telematics suppliers
Support budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and reporting activities related to fleet operations and present recommendations to leadership
Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience in fleet management, procurement, transportation, operations, or a related function
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, or a comparable field is preferred
equivalent practical experience will be considered
Demonstrated ability to manage vehicle lifecycle activities and coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders
Knowledge of fleet compliance requirements, driver record oversight, vehicle documentation, and regulatory standards
Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting operational metrics, cost trends, and vendor performance data
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with finance, safety, field leadership, and supplier partners
Proficiency in organizing priorities, maintaining accurate records, and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
