Position Summary: Manage and coordinate the Distribution Centre (DC) fleet activities, ensuring a high level of service that meets or exceeds operational expectations. Ensure that the LGV/HGV fleet is maintained to the required standards, supporting the daily needs of the distribution centre while remaining fully compliant with statutory and legislative requirements. Balance operational demands with cost control, driving efficiencies and reducing repair costs while maintaining service delivery.
Job Responsibility
Provide a comprehensive Fleet Management service aligned with central policies
Manage external contractors, ensuring quality workmanship and cost effectiveness
Support the Transport Manager in budgeting and cost control
Monitor industry standards and recommend improvements in efficiency and performance
Coach and influence depot personnel to improve fleet utilisation and efficiency
Oversee all vehicle maintenance and repair processes
Maintain Health & Safety standards relating to fleet and equipment use
Audit and advise on safe and legal vehicle operations
Support accident repair processes in line with insurer requirements
Ensure full compliance with Operator’s Licence obligations
