The Fleet Manager is responsible for developing solutions for the overall health of a fleet, and cross-functional coordination required to improve fleet performance at Alaska Airlines (AS) and Hawaiian Airlines (HA). As an individual contributor, this role makes recommendations integrating engineering, operational and commercial considerations to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations of the AS and HA fleet.
Job Responsibility:
Take initiative to develop solutions for a holistic monthly fleet health report using M&E data to highlight key operational and financial metrics, major reliability and cost drivers, risks, and required engineering actions
Collaborates across engineering disciplines, operational groups, OEMs, and suppliers to diagnose fleet issues, establish health monitoring practices, and ensure accurate configuration management
Represents Maintenance & Engineering in aircraft configuration, induction, and delivery activities to ensure proper systems definition, technical integration, and acceptance standards
With limited direction from manager, oversees engineering projects for the assigned fleet, ensuring alignment with schedule, cost, technical requirements, and commercial considerations in partnership with vendors and warranty teams
Engages in industry and OEM forums, participates in reliability meetings, and supports broader fleet reliability initiatives
Requirements:
2 years of experience in the airline industry or aviation related experience with transport category aircraft
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree
Project, program, or portfolio management experience
Familiar with aircraft reliability drivers and maintenance processes
Ability to build and sustain cross-divisional business relationships
Ability to lead and sustain successful teams by strategizing, coordinating, and planning logistics
Ability to effectively and persuasively present detailed information to all levels of management in the organization, including the investment council and board of directors
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum age of 18
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
