Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maximizing rolling stock fleet uptime, controlling maintenance costs, and ensuring safety and compliance across all tractors, trailers and forklifts. This role leads daily shop execution, develops the maintenance team, and uses Cetaris and reporting to drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement in the shop.

Job Responsibility

  • Maximize fleet uptime and reliability across tractors, trailers, and forklifts
  • Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are completed on time and reduce repeat equipment failures through root cause analysis
  • Oversee daily shop operations, including work order prioritization, repair assignments, and workflow management
  • Balance PMs, breakdown repairs, and project work to support operational needs
  • Ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards
  • Manage maintenance costs including labor, parts, and outside vendor spend
  • Track equipment performance and provide repair vs. replace recommendations using maintenance data
  • Maintain compliance with safety procedures, training requirements, PPE, LOTO, and audit readiness standards
  • Lead shop safety initiatives, participate in audits, and ensure corrective actions are completed
  • Supervise, coach, and develop mechanics and shop personnel to improve productivity and quality
  • Manage and maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, labor, and parts data in Cetaris
  • Monitor fleet performance, downtime trends, PM compliance, labor utilization, and maintenance costs through reporting
  • Maintain parts inventory, perform cycle counts, and manage min/max inventory levels and obsolete parts
  • Communicate equipment status, downtime risks, and operational priorities with plant and transportation leadership

Requirements

  • Experience leading maintenance operations for fleet, heavy equipment, industrial, or transportation environments
  • Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, fleet reliability, and shop operations
  • Experience supervising mechanics or maintenance technicians in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems, preferably Cetaris, including work order and reporting management
  • Strong understanding of safety compliance, OSHA standards, LOTO, PPE, and maintenance best practices
  • Experience managing maintenance budgets, vendor relationships, and parts inventory
  • Ability to analyze maintenance data, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to drive accountability and team performance

  • Own the CMMS (Megamation or similar): robust PM program, accurate failure coding, spares strategy, backlog health, and weekly schedule adherence with high data quality
  • Ensure maintenance and calibration support GFSI (SQF/BRC) expectations—manage food-grade lubricants, temporary repairs, tool control, and audit-ready documentation
  • Enforce LOTO (OSHA 1910.147) and electrical safety (NFPA 70E) and Unilever requirements, manage contractor safety champion a zero-injury culture across shifts
