Job Description:

The Fleet Maintenance Specialist will be a critical addition to the Asset Management team, responsible for developing vendor relationships for maintenance & repair on the Arrive lease trailer fleet decreasing overall spend. This individual will also be responsible for managing DVIR compliance and assisting with damage claims against shipper(s) and carrier(s).

Job Responsibility:

  • Developing Vendor Relationships: Sourcing local mechanic support near Arrive leased yards and the origin distribution centers where the fleet is deployed, as well as over the road options for unscheduled maintenance events
  • Standardization & Sourcing of Parts & Labor: Ensuring pre-determined standards for cost & mileage are met in regards to tires, air lines, hub caps, and labor to repair/install material. Engaging in negotiations with material suppliers
  • Up Time & Preventative Maintenance: Monitoring out of service % across the fleet which enables operations to increase overall profitability of the fleet, as well establishing quarterly PM schedules for wear & tear and DOT inspections
  • Cost Per Mile Reporting: Measuring overall cost per mile on the fleet to support pricing and operations when engaging in net new pricing opportunities
  • Documentation Collection for Subrogation: Develop a centralized repository for driver vehicle inspection records to support claims & finance on subrogation events against shippers and carriers

Requirements:

  • 4 + years of experience in fleet maintenance and logistics
  • Proven ability to develop and implement operational models and strategies
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive business decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of managing external vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Proficiency in TMS systems and telematics platforms
  • Experience with trailer maintenance and M&R strategy
  • Working knowledge of financial concepts related to capital ROI and utilization targets
