Job Description

The Fleet Business Partner will provide operational and financial support to the fleet function, working closely with senior operational stakeholders to drive cost efficiency, governance, and consistency across fleet activity. This is a highly business-facing role, focused on approvals, process implementation, and identifying savings opportunities within fleet from a strong financial perspective. The role requires a confident and commercially minded finance professional who can bring their own ideas, challenge constructively, and partner effectively with senior leaders to influence decision-making.

Job Responsibility

  • Work closely with the operational fleet team to implement agreed fleet initiatives
  • Act as the central point of contact for hire vehicle approvals, reviewing requests and approving or declining in line with policy
  • Ensure consistent application and rollout of fleet-related processes across the operation
  • Identify and drive cost-saving opportunities within fleet activity, using financial insight to influence operational change
  • Provide strong business partnering support to senior stakeholders, offering clear financial challenge and guidance
  • Support governance and control around fleet spend, ensuring compliance with agreed frameworks
  • Act as a trusted finance contact for fleet-related decisions and approvals

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) or qualified by experience with strong senior-level exposure
  • Strong and recent experience in finance business partnering roles
  • Fleet experience is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to work with senior operational stakeholders and influence outcomes
  • Commercially minded with a proactive approach to identifying and delivering savings
  • Confident, robust communicator with the ability to challenge effectively
