Job Responsibility:
Serves as the Fleet and Property Accountability Manager for Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs.
Serves as a full-time supervisor.
Confers and coordinates with Agency management to ensure the integration of Program activities with other Agency programs and to resolve administrative problems.
Solicits information from all Divisions/Sections within the Department and evaluates submitted information for various reports.
Advises superior of problems related to operational procedures, inter/intra division special projects deadlines.
Travels periodically to the Veteran Homes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of property accountability at the facilities.
Directs and coordinates special assignments/projects.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Requirements:
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
Requires ability to pass a background check.
Requires use of agency-supplied equipment (mobile phone, laptop, etc.).
Requires ability to attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties.
Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license.
Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be required to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime.
Nice to have:
Three (3) years of professional work experience in management recommending and implementing policies and procedures for an organization.
Two (2) years of professional experience in managing property accountability.
Two (2) years of professional experience in the area of telecommunications.
Two (2) years of professional experience in fleet management.
Three (3) years of experience negotiating contracts and coordinating needs with vendors on behalf of an agency or organization.
Two (2) years of professional experience working with integrated teams.
Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
