We’re looking for a flavour manager who will lead the flavour program for Oral Care India through innovation/renovation/capability projects in multifunctional teams to deliver against the superiority, sustainability and savings targets of the HUL Oral category.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure we delight our consumers with the sensorial product experience that is inline with brand key and product promise
Input broader flavour thinking to x-functional team, such as claims opportunities, cost opportunities and partnering solutions
Identify new opportunities to deliver holistic superiority looking at all elements of the product mix and defining where flavour and flavour technologies can play an impactful role
Requirements:
Lead the flavour development agenda for Oral care India by keenly looking at the chasis and the compatibility of different flav ingredients to arrive at the right sensorial experience of the toothpaste, and similar OC formats
Work with the formulation teams and the Flavour Houses to develop the right flavour in collaboration to Deliver the brief
Flavour assessment for quality purpose (commercial product and storage stability) and also during the development stage of the project to choose the right product form sensorial requirement in the brief
Guide the Flavour houses and also the marketing and project team by understanding the consumer preferences and feedback to iterate and arrive at the right profile for the flavour to ensure consumer satisfaction
Should have the working knowledge of role of individual flavour ingredients that can heighten the experience and fit the brief
Should be able to write clear briefs, work with flavour houses and global and SERS team for getting necessary approvals for compliance ( regulatory and safety)
The person will need to drive closures on decision and work with X-functional teams for networks and commercialisation
The person should be able to develop suppliers for any ingredients and contribute to the savings agenda for the category
Develop and execute the Flavour Strategy, encompassing both technical and consumer insights and delivering key category superiority and 5s initiatives
The person should have deep expertise in assessment of the flavours to provide judgement and translate the consumer venatims to insights and then arrive at the best suited mix for the project
Adapt, modify, and improve existing flavour approaches to provide quick solutions for existing flav improvements
To be able to also taste and judge the competition and provide insights on changes
Good analytical knowledge for carrying out / interpreting the flavour analysis to arrive at the breakdown of components and formulation construct of flavours
Good stakeholder management skills both internal and external good negotiation and influencing skills
Experience in leading a team with multiple priority areas under tight time pressures
Nice to have:
Experience beyond flavours - ideally within consumer insights and/or sensory is great to have
A strong collaborator, team worker, experience at working in India flavour development/assessment and sensory will be great to have
