Job Description

Join a purpose-driven biotech start-up that redefines the future of natural flavor. From startup to scale-up. EvodiaBio is entering its next growth chapter. In just four years, we’ve built our own production site, raised over DKK 100 million, and launched our first product globally. Now, we’re looking for a creative, hands-on Flavorist who loves translating cutting-edge aroma innovation into great-tasting experiences – combining sensory expertise, formulation, and customer collaboration to help shape our future as we scale internationally.

Job Responsibility

  • Flavor matching, creation & compounding
  • Develop flavor using EvodiaBio’s natural aroma ingredients according to a set brief
  • Compound safely at the bench, in an agile and efficient way
  • Contribute to the development of new flavor blends through smelling, tasting, and iterative bench work in close collaboration with experienced flavorist and product developers
  • Flavor application
  • Design and execute bench-scale formulations for beverages, beer, wine, functional beverages, and soft drinks, ensuring stability and performance in different matrices
  • Sensory evaluation & optimization
  • Run structured tastings, build sensory profiles, iterate on formulations, and document learnings to improve performance and consistency
  • Customer collaboration & technical support
  • Work closely with customers and partners to understand application needs, deliver samples, gather feedback, and co-create solutions for real products
  • Scale-up readiness
  • Partner with R&D and Production to ensure flavors and aroma solutions are robust and reproducible from lab to production scale
  • Value proposition development & internal enablement
  • Help translate sensory benefits into clear language for internal teams (sales, marketing, partnerships) and contribute to customer-facing materials
  • Continuous improvement
  • Responsible for lab maintenance and lab inventory
  • Build structured flavor development workflows, sensory standards, and best practices that scale with the company

Requirements

  • Education in flavor science, food technology or a related field (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Proven experience as a Flavorist and/or in flavor development within beverages (beer experience is a strong plus)
  • Strong sensory skills and confidence running tastings, descriptive profiling, and iterative optimization
  • Knowledge of aromatic raw materials and flavor manufacturing processes
  • Excellent smelling and tasting skills
  • Practical formulation experience and an understanding of how flavor behaves in different beverage matrices
  • A structured and responsible mindset
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with R&D, production, and commercial teams, and directly with customers
  • Excellent team player
  • Fluency in English
