The successful candidate will work on a range of hydraulic modelling projects, contributing to flood risk assessments, water flow simulations, and engineering studies using flat (2D) hydraulic modelling approaches. This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects in a collaborative, international environment.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and run 2D (flat) hydraulic models for riverine, urban, and floodplain systems
Analyse hydraulic behaviour, flood risks, and flow scenarios
Prepare technical reports, documentation, and client deliverables
Support project teams with modelling insights and engineering recommendations
Liaise with internal stakeholders, clients, and authorities as required
Contribute to continuous improvement of modelling methods and workflows
Requirements:
Degree in Civil Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
Proven experience in flat / 2D hydraulic modelling
Experience with hydraulic modelling software (e.g. HEC-RAS 2D, TUFLOW, TELEMAC, MIKE, or similar)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Fluent German and English (written and spoken)
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Nice to have:
Experience working on flood risk or water management projects in Europe
Knowledge of local or regional regulatory frameworks
