Job Description

A Fixture Designer is responsible to translate customer requirements and specifications into functional designs that are used in the manufacture of our products.

Job Responsibility

  • Ability to create designs from concept to completion
  • Follow customer requirements and specifications
  • Participate in design review meetings and revise/update designs as required
  • Create detail specifications, bill of materials, and manufacturing/CMM release packages
  • Communicate progress to direct supervisor
  • Ensure designs meet Customer and Select Tool Standards
  • Collaborate with CMM/Quality Department on GD&T and general tolerances
  • Provide input regarding efficiency and design for manufacturing
  • Work to budgeted time allocation and timing milestones
  • Adhere to all ISO procedures pertaining to job responsibilities
  • Comply with, and follow all Company policies and procedures
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Relevant automotive and/or aerospace checking fixture design experience
  • Knowledge of GD&T
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and interact with team members
  • General knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
  • Minimum High School diploma
  • Technical School Graduate or equivalent experience in an industrial manufacturing environment

Nice to have

  • Experience with OEM and major Tier 1 clients an asset
  • SolidWorks experience an asset
  • Previous experience in fixture assembly, CNC machining, or CMM operation an asset
