Job Description:

The Fixed Plant Labourer/Lubrication Technician is responsible for performing a variety of general labor tasks in a mill or industrial environment, with a focus on maintaining equipment through regular lubrication and basic mechanical upkeep. This Mill Laborer/Lube Technician role supports production efficiency by ensuring machinery is clean, well-maintained, and operating safely.

Job Responsibility:

  • Apply lubricants to machinery and equipment according to established preventive maintenance schedules
  • Perform routine fluid level checks and refill as needed (oil, grease, coolant, etc.)
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections to identify leaks, wear, or maintenance needs
  • Assist with basic mechanical repairs, part replacements, and general maintenance tasks
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including cleaning around machinery and removing debris
  • Operate tools and equipment as needed, complete daily logs and report issues promptly
  • Follow all safety protocols, including PPE use, lockout/tagout, and hazard communication
  • Support other teams with general labor duties as required

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in an industrial or mill environment preferred
  • Basic knowledge of lubrication and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions and safety guidelines
  • Strong work ethic and ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing, and standing for long periods
