Product Strategists are insightful investment professionals who partner closely with Portfolio Managers and Client Business. They play a central role in connecting investment teams with the client business, ensuring investment perspectives are aligned with client needs and market realities. Embedded within investment teams, Product Strategists provide specialized product, investment, and market expertise. As Product Strategists progress in seniority, the role offers a unique opportunity to shape high-impact investment proposals and deliver strategic presentations that meaningfully influence client decision-making. Senior Product Strategists play a critical role in helping Japanese clients navigate fixed income markets by translating global investment insights into actionable, locally relevant solutions, thereby making a tangible contribution to the evolution of fixed income investing in Japan. This role is also rewarding in that it allows Product Strategists to work closely with BlackRock’s global fixed income platform and help make its capabilities accessible and relevant to Japanese investors. By partnering with global portfolio managers and investment teams, Product Strategists support the effective delivery of global fixed income insights and solutions to the Japan market, contributing to thoughtful product positioning and client engagement.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead partnerships with client business, marketing, and internal stakeholders to position and support BlackRock’s fixed income products in Japan
  • Represent products and portfolio managers in client review meetings, market updates, and adhoc portfolio discussions — independently and effectively
  • Communicate investment outlooks, market insights, and product updates to key clients, using global research and resources
  • Be responsible for the creation and enhancement of product materials, including presentations, marketing content, RFPs, reports, and written commentary
  • Manage and respond to sophisticated client requests, including deep duediligence questionnaires and product assessments
  • Drive new product development from idea generation through launch, collaborating with global and regional teams

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in product strategy, product management, or investment related roles (within asset management or broader financial services), or a solid understanding of fixed income and capital markets concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English
  • Proven track record to understand and address the needs of strategic clients
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely
  • Collaborative attitude with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships quickly
