Fixed Income Data Platform Lead

• Drive platform product design and deliver on platform roadmap, aligning platform service builds with stakeholder needs across other technology partners and business clients
• Develop and leverage observability to understand adoption and ROI of platform services
• Work across organizational boundaries in Markets and Citi to achieve cost efficiencies through reuse and economies of scale
• Push forward automation of platform provisioning and support to create a great user experience as well as safeguard engineering capacity for the platform team
• Ensure that Citi makes appropriate strategic choices in the onboarding, management and exiting of vendors in the data platform space – evaluating both public cloud vendors as well as open-source solutions
• Provide technical oversight in the design of highly complex distributed data systems
• Develop and advocate for new solutions to undefined system needs, where no solution is available within the technical community
• Impact the engineering function by contributing to technical direction and strategic decisions
• Ensure products are ready and adhere to global operational standards for ongoing operation and support
• Mentor senior technical talent as well as junior team members and allocate work
• Exhibit knowledge of how platform services contribute to the business and apply knowledge of competitors, products and services
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

• 10+ years of relevant experience in an Engineering role, preferably including platform engineering roles
• 5+ years of experience in Java, Python or Rust and Kubernetes
• 5+ years of experience working with diverse big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Snowflake, Trino, Kafka and owning major components in the big data / modern data stack space
• Experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment
• Project Management and technical product development experience
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices
• Demonstrated analytic/diagnostic skills
• Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
• Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
• Proven track record of operational process change and improvement
• Experience working with external data technology vendors on evaluation of options and strategic partnerships

Master’s degree preferred
