Minimum of 5-8 years’ relevant experience including post articles and a strong background in financial reporting
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

Job Responsibility

Lead Fixed Assets Accounting as well as Opex Accounting for MAST
Responsible for the precise recordkeeping of fixed assets general ledger and sub-ledgers
Manage and monitor all entries posted to these ledgers
Manage and review all Month-End Closing activities ensuring timely reporting to key stakeholders
Fixed Asset Accounting: Ensuring fixed asset accounts are complete and accurate
Ensuring timely capitalization of capital projects
Monitor and review daily transactions
Review monthly depreciation postings
Collaborate with team members to monitor asset disposals and movements
Daily and monthly reconciliations: Supervision and coordinated of Balance Sheet and sub-ledger reconciliations in MAST

Requirements

University degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering
Post-graduate qualification in Mechanical Engineering well regarded
Chartered Professional Engineer accredited by Engineers Australia and current membership will be well regarded
A minimum of 5 years practical mechanical engineering experience with fixed plant equipment used in hard rock mine operations
Expertise in mechanical engineering standards, risk management and compliance
Competency in mechanical integrity assurance, risk mitigation and governance frameworks

Being a subject matter expert across optimization of mechanical standards for fixed plant assets
Analysing and assessing fixed plant asset integrity and maturity on critical assets
Formulating condition reports
Monitoring business partner performance to ensure alignment and support for Newmont’s global asset integrity initiatives
Evaluate the maturity of mechanical systems and processes and identify areas for enhancement and improvement
Formulate detailed reports based on integrity and maturity assessments and include actionable recommendations for improvements
Coordinate, execute and close out actions identified during audits and reviews and ensure improvements are executed effectively in collaboration with site-based teams
Monitor and assess the performance of partners involved in the maintenance and support of stationary mechanical systems and ensure compliance with quality and contractual standards
Support, guide and facilitate timely and effective close out of all action items from integrity and maturity assessments
