Job Description

This role is integral to managing the financial activities related to capital, expense, and R&D projects across the organization. The ideal candidate will ensure precise cost tracking, compliance with accounting standards, and provide valuable financial insights to support strategic decisions.

Job Responsibility

  • Set up and activate capital, expense, and R&D projects while ensuring accurate cost categorization and compliance with company policies
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of project expenses with general ledger accounts and promptly resolve discrepancies
  • Collaborate with project managers and financial analysts to prepare and update budgets and forecasts, supporting annual planning and quarterly reviews
  • Manage month-end and year-end close activities, including preparing accruals, asset retirements, and reclassifications
  • Maintain detailed documentation for all transactions to support audits and compliance reviews
  • Ensure audit trails for capital expenditures are accurate while addressing and resolving audit findings
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including automation and system enhancements, to optimize efficiency and accuracy
  • Partner with engineering, operations, and finance teams to align accounting practices with organizational goals
  • Enforce capital project accounting policies to ensure standardization and compliance across all departments
  • Monitor adherence to internal controls and respond to changes in regulatory requirements effectively

Requirements

  • Proven experience in fixed asset accounting, including asset depreciation and ledger management
  • Strong understanding of capital project accounting and compliance with regulatory standards
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and budget forecasting
  • Familiarity with general ledger reconciliation and month-end/year-end closing processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation
  • Experience in identifying process improvements and implementing system enhancements
  • Knowledge of internal controls and audit requirements
