This role is responsible for managing the organization's fixed asset processes, ensuring accurate depreciation, maintaining oversight of capital and controllable assets, and supporting digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to bridge finance with operational needs.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee monthly depreciation calculations and ensure accuracy in reporting
Maintain oversight of all physical assets, including capital and controllable items
Manage processes for recording, tracking, and reconciling depreciation
Serve as a liaison for central receiving, ensuring proper system setup and coordination with third-party providers
Distinguish purchases made for grant-funded purposes from those for general use, ensuring proper tracking and reporting
Conduct physical tracking of assets, ensuring proper assignment, transfer, and accountability
Process and review daily transfer requests, with increased volume during year-end periods
Facilitate effective communication between the finance team and day-to-day operational needs
Drive digital transformation initiatives and leverage technology to improve efficiency in fixed asset management
Support advancements in resources and technology to streamline asset tracking and reporting
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
5+ years of experience in fixed asset accounting or related accounting functions
Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and capital asset management
Experience with physical asset tracking, reconciliation, and system oversight
Ability to design and maintain efficient systems and processes
Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively between finance and operations
Problem-solving and process-improvement mindset with a focus on technology adoption
Banner ERP system - strongly preferred
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency - pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis, and reporting
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage high transaction volumes and deadlines effectively
Nice to have:
Familiarity with other ERP/accounting systems is a plus
