We are looking for a Fixed Asset Accountant to support asset accounting activities for a construction-focused organization in High Point, North Carolina. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in fixed assets who can bring structure to accounting workflows, maintain accurate records, and strengthen reporting processes. The position works primarily onsite with some flexibility and offers the opportunity to partner closely with operational and finance teams.
Job Responsibility:
Manage the full fixed asset accounting cycle, including asset setup, capitalization, transfers, retirements, and disposals
Maintain the fixed asset ledger and ensure records remain accurate, complete, and aligned with company policies and accounting standards
Calculate and review depreciation activity, resolving discrepancies and confirming proper asset classification and useful life assignments
Perform fixed asset inventory reviews and reconcile physical assets to accounting records on a regular basis
Develop and refine procedures that improve consistency, control, and efficiency across fixed asset accounting operations
Partner with project, operations, and finance teams to track capital expenditures and ensure timely recording of completed assets
Support month-end and year-end close activities related to fixed assets, including reconciliations, reporting, and audit preparation
Assist with asset-related process updates or system-related changes when needed, ensuring continuity and accurate financial reporting
Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience in fixed asset accounting
Background in manufacturing or construction accounting environments
Demonstrated knowledge of fixed asset capitalization, depreciation, inventory, and ledger maintenance
Experience reconciling fixed asset records and identifying discrepancies in financial data
Ability to establish and improve accounting processes with strong attention to detail
Proficiency working with accounting systems and spreadsheets to manage asset data and reporting
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
