An experienced Plant / Tool Hire Fitter with a background of hands on mechanical / Industrial experience within the Plant /Tool Hire industry
NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds in plant maintenance or equivalent would be an advantage but not essential
A fitter with a flexible approach, who can work within a dynamic team in a rewarding role
Driving license required to cover on-site breakdowns on occasions

Job Responsibility

Carrying out repairs as well as routine service/maintenance on petrol, 2-stroke, diesel and electrical equipment
Liaising with the parts department along with ensuring all the compliance paperwork is completed accurately

Job Responsibility

Fit and assemble precision metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate production machines and other equipment
Use a variety of hand and power tools (e.g., grinders, drills, cutting equipment) to cut, shape, file, plane, bore, and drill metal components
Check assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance, and fit using measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, tape measures)
Set guides, stops, and other controls on machining tools, and set up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses
Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required (e.g., MIG, TIG, stick welding, tack welding)
Install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
Ensure all fitting and assembly work complies with quality standards and specifications
Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance (PPM), and servicing of mechanical, electrical, and other technical equipment and systems to ensure optimal operational efficiency and longevity
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and control system faults using systematic problem-solving methodologies and diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, software diagnostics)
