Job Description:

TWO POSITIONS (#01415A & #00378A) TO BE FILLED WITH THIS RECRUITMENT. This position’s primary responsibility is to provide support to the department chairs on the fiscal management of the departments’ operating budgets. The incumbent will work with the Office Managers/Receptionists and budget unit directors to ensure the prompt and timely processing of procurement paperwork (LPOs, requisitions), receiving reports, travel reimbursements, and hiring paperwork in compliance with the policies of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Office of Finance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide support to the department chairs on the fiscal management of the departments’ operating budgets
  • Work with the Office Managers/Receptionists and budget unit directors to ensure the prompt and timely processing of procurement paperwork (LPOs, requisitions), receiving reports, travel reimbursements, and hiring paperwork in compliance with the policies of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Office of Finance

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of general fiscal procedures
  • Working knowledge of information systems and computer software used to prepare correspondence, create reports, and manipulate data such as Banner and Microsoft Office products
  • Working knowledge of general office procedures
  • Working knowledge of effective customer service and problem resolution techniques
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interact professionally and effectively with students, faculty and other University personnel
  • Considerable experience in administrative support role
  • Considerable experience monitoring and reconciling departmental budgets

Nice to have:

  • Some experience in managing complex fiscal electronic systems
  • Some experience using BANNER General Campus, TEMS, FLAC, E-PAF, Student Access, Accounts Payable LPO Processing, Accounts Payable, Vendor Payment Research, Budget Query, and Chart of Accounts Validation
  • Familiarity with the University is desirable
