The Firmware / OTA Integration Engineer is responsible for the design, development, integration, and maintenance of embedded firmware and over-the-air (OTA) update solutions for dosimeter devices and IoT gateways deployed across operational environments. This role is essential to ensuring that client delivers secure, reliable, and up-to-date device functionality in support of radiation exposure management, inventory control, and compliance with evolving requirements. The engineer works closely with hardware designers, edge software engineers, and cloud integration teams to implement robust firmware architectures, OTA update mechanisms, and device management protocols that meet stringent operational, cybersecurity, and safety standards. The Firmware / OTA Integration Engineer develops and maintains embedded code for microcontrollers and wireless modules, implements secure boot and update processes, and ensures seamless integration with AWS Greengrass and cloud services for remote firmware deployment, monitoring, and rollback. The position requires hands-on experience with embedded C/C++, secure firmware development, wireless communication protocols (such as BLE), and OTA update frameworks. The engineer is responsible for validating firmware updates through automated and manual testing, supporting field deployment and troubleshooting, and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation. This role is critical for enabling the client to maintain operational readiness, minimize device downtime, and ensure that all deployed dosimeters and gateways remain compliant with the latest security and functional requirements.
