We’re looking for a skilled Firewall Engineer to play a key role in strengthening and standardising firewall capability across IT and OT environments. You’ll be responsible for aligning policies, improving operational processes, and ensuring firewall platforms are secure, automated, and fully integrated with monitoring and orchestration tools. This is a hands-on role requiring close collaboration with operational teams, security stakeholders, and vendors to deliver consistent, scalable, and auditable firewall services.

Job Responsibility

  • Align IT and OT firewall policies to ensure consistent security controls across environments
  • Design, create, and implement OT IDS policies, transitioning them smoothly into operational use
  • Optimise firewall request and change processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk
  • Standardise OT and IT firewall ingress policies on a global scale
  • Ensure firewall platforms are correctly configured to report into centralised tooling such as Tufin and Splunk
  • Automate firewall-related processes and integrate with orchestration tools and SIEM platforms
  • Enhance operational metrics, reporting, and risk visibility across firewall estates
  • Review existing firewall policies and rule sets to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and risks
  • Define and document standard firewall patterns and ingress policies for IT and OT environments
  • Work with operations teams to transition new firewall and IDS policies into business-as-usual support
  • Drive automation and integration initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve reliability
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on firewall upgrades, reporting, and tooling integration
  • Maintain accurate documentation of firewall configurations, processes, and policy standards

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Firewall Engineer or in a network/security engineering role
  • Strong understanding of firewall technologies and policy management in IT and OT environments
  • Experience with enterprise firewall platforms such as Cisco and Check Point (or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with firewall management, reporting, and analytics tools (e.g. Tufin, Splunk, SIEM platforms)
  • Knowledge of automation and orchestration tools for security operations
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to document standards and engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
