Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Firewall Engineer to support one of our clients – a well established European investment bank, to support network security initiatives, including firewall design, implementation and project delivery. This role is critical in ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient network infrastructure within a highly regulated environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, implement, and deploy firewall solutions, primarily using Fortinet technologies
  • Lead or support end-to-end firewall projects, including new installations and architecture design
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize firewall policies in accordance with security best practices
  • Perform firewall rule reviews, audits, and compliance checks
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to deliver security enhancements and infrastructure upgrades
  • Troubleshoot and resolve firewall and network security issues
  • Support change management, documentation, and operational handover processes

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 - 8 years of experience in network security, with a strong focus on firewall technologies
  • Hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls (FortiGate) in both design and/or implementation
  • Proven experience in firewall deployment projects within enterprise environments
  • Fortinet certification (NSE4 or above) is required
  • Good understanding of network security principles, including VPNs, NAT, IPS, and threat prevention
  • Experience working in banking or financial services environments is highly preferred
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in the banking sector
  • Exposure to network architecture design and security frameworks
