Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting a Firewall Engineer (3830) in Idaho Falls, ID. The Firewall Engineer supports critical Information Technology operations by implementing IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack configurations on Palo Alto firewalls. This role is responsible for developing IPv6 firewall rulesets within Palo Alto Panorama and deploying those rulesets to Palo Alto firewall devices throughout the enterprise environment. IPv6 rulesets will be developed based on existing IPv4 firewall rules to ensure continuity, security, and compliance across network infrastructure.
Job Responsibility:
Implementing IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack configurations on Palo Alto firewalls
Developing IPv6 firewall rulesets within Palo Alto Panorama
Deploying those rulesets to Palo Alto firewall devices throughout the enterprise environment
IPv6 rulesets will be developed based on existing IPv4 firewall rules to ensure continuity, security, and compliance across network infrastructure
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of two (2) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Build, configure, and deploy firewall rules on Palo Alto firewall platforms
Develop and implement IPv6 interfaces on firewall devices
Validate, monitor, and troubleshoot firewall traffic to ensure network performance and security
Implement IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack networking solutions across enterprise environments
Utilize Palo Alto Panorama to centrally manage and deploy firewall configurations and rulesets
Experience working in secured or regulated IT environments
Familiarity with enterprise network security practices supporting government or DOE facilities
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required
