We have an exciting opportunity for a Fire Safety Carpenter to conduct specialist fire safety carpentry works to meet fire safety standards on a wide range of building types including supported and sheltered premises, flats, communal areas, and office spaces as identified by fire safety inspections.
Job Responsibility:
Undertake fitting, adjustments and repairs of timber and composite fire doors in accordance with BM TRADA requirements and best practice
Undertake carpentry works including adjusting and repairing windows and doors
Consult with internal and external customers and care providers to arrange on-site work
Responsible for all equipment provided by Saffron including van stock, vehicle, tools, and materials
Requirements:
A recognised trade apprenticeship, NVQ level 2 or the equivalent level of skills and experience (E)
A BM TRADA qualification or equivalent (E)
Relevant experience and knowledge in all types of carpentry work
Ability to take responsibility for the work carried out and fully understand the importance of fire safety for an organisation
Experience in working in occupied properties and on occasions in extreme temperatures and conditions due to seasonal weather conditions
Able to work as part of a team and able to work independently without the need for close supervision
Excellent time management skills, including an ability to prioritise workload and meet agreed deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, possessing the ability to liaise with various audiences
Ability to use a mobile device (mobile phone/tablet) to manage workload, send and receive emails, access apps to order stock and MS Teams for meetings / training
Ability to participate in the out-of-hours call out Rota, if required
Full, current, valid driving licence
Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
