Job Description

Do you want to join Hyde as a Fire Safety & Building Remediation Officer and play a key role in delivering major fire safety improvements across our homes? You’ll support the planning, coordination and day‑to‑day delivery of major works, ensuring projects run smoothly, stay on track, and meet the highest safety and compliance standards. Working closely with contractors, consultants, and customers to make sure our buildings are safe and our customers are well‑informed throughout the process.

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting with the management of major fire safety and building remediation projects from start to finish, including planning, procurement, delivery and handover
  • Monitoring project timelines, identifying risks early and helping to keep work on schedule, within scope and within budget
  • Keeping accurate project records, including programmes, progress reports, cost trackers and change logs
  • Providing regular updates to the Senior Project Manager and other stakeholders on progress, risks and key decisions
  • Working with contractors, consultants and internal teams to coordinate resources and minimise disruption to residents
  • Acting as a key point of contact for customers, supporting engagement sessions and responding to queries with clear, accessible information
  • Carrying out site inspections, monitoring contractor performance and ensuring any issues are addressed promptly
  • Supporting procurement activities, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids and recommending contract awards
  • Helping to meet reporting requirements linked to external funding, including progress updates and evidence submissions

Requirements

  • Experience delivering construction, fire safety or building safety projects
  • Strong contractor and consultant management skills, ensuring work meets required quality, cost and safety standards
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with customers, colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Good understanding of building safety and fire safety regulations, with experience working in a compliance‑led environment
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate project documentation, reporting and financial tracking
