Job Description:

Fire Risk Officer – Islington (Housing Client). We are currently recruiting on behalf of a Housing Client in Islington for a Fire Risk Officer to join the Assets team on a hybrid basis, with 3 days per week in the office. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring buildings remain compliant and safe for residents, with a primary focus on managing two passive fire remedial contractors.

Job Responsibility:

  • Monitor and manage the completion of Fire Risk Assessment actions through to completion within agreed timeframes
  • Lead regular, structured contract review meetings, scrutinising KPIs, addressing health & safety matters and holding contractors to account
  • Manage and oversee passive fire remedial contractors to ensure delivery of compliant works
  • Provide clear guidance to operational colleagues, contractors, stakeholders and residents on fire safety actions and queries
  • Financial management duties including raising purchase orders, receipting and ensuring timely and accurate contractor payments
  • Ensure services deliver value for money while meeting budget expectations and organisational objectives

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in contract management, stakeholder engagement, project coordination or a similar role
  • Strong working knowledge of fire risk management and relevant statutory and regulatory fire safety requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
  • Intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft Office and related systems
  • Ability to manage contractors effectively and build strong professional working relationships
