Engineer responsible for Fire Protection Design. Below job requirements/preferred requirements relate to job tasks required for this position.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Fire Administration/Prevention, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • Five or more years of progressive and relevant experience in Fire Sprinkler System Design
  • Experience implementing programs and procedures to ensure employee and facility safety is in accordance with all OSHA, NFPA and Life Safety Code requirements
  • Ability to plan, self-perform tasks and multi-task on multiple projects
  • The position requires the ability to present information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word and utilize automated workflow systems
  • Must be able to coordinate verification and validation of documents with technical and operations personnel prior to release for approval and implementation
  • Ability to develop and maintain historical information
  • Ability to prepare, interpret, maintain, and incorporate requirements of technical drawings and operating documents
  • Ability to follow procedures and work within a rigorous work process
  • US citizenship is required

Nice to have

  • A Professional Engineering License (PE)
  • Proficiency using hydraulic calculation software (HASS, etc)
  • DOE work experience
