Job Description

We are seeking a safety and fire protection professional to support and strengthen the Safety, Health & Wellbeing (SHW) framework across VOIS India locations. The individual will contribute to implementing and managing the Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, improving fire safety measures, and embedding a proactive safety culture. This role is well suited for candidates with strong experience in risk assessment, fire protection, incident analysis, and safety operations within complex facilities.

Job Responsibility

  • Implement, manage, and improve the Safety Management System in alignment with ISO 45001:2018, organisational policies, and statutory requirements
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local, national, and international regulations such as NBC, NFPA, ISO 45001, OSHA, and BIS
  • Oversee fire safety programmes, including prevention measures, protection systems, and emergency preparedness across VOIS India locations
  • Conduct and review risk assessments, incident and near‑miss investigations, and recommend risk mitigation actions
  • Plan and execute safety and fire audits, inspections, and assurance activities while analysing trends and advising SHW leadership
  • Supervise testing and preventive maintenance of fire prevention and protection systems
  • Act as the primary liaison with internal teams, vendors, and service providers on all safety and fire-related matters
  • Support onboarding of new sites and change management initiatives from a safety standpoint
  • Drive safety capability building and enhance safety culture through training and awareness programmes
  • Prepare and present safety performance reports, dashboards, and risk summaries, raising critical issues in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Graduate in Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • electrochemical background preferred
  • Holder of a Diploma or post‑graduate qualification in Fire & Life Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, or an equivalent discipline
  • At least 10 years of experience in safety and fire safety roles, ideally in corporate offices, large campuses, or commercial facilities
  • Knowledgeable in fire codes, safety management systems, and statutory requirements
  • Skilled in hazard identification, risk assessment, incident analysis, and driving risk‑based corrective actions
  • Capable of translating policies into practical implementation, monitoring compliance, and ensuring closure of safety actions
  • Effective in engaging cross‑functional teams, vendors, and authorities while influencing safe behaviours
  • Able to communicate safety performance and risks clearly to leadership
