A well-established, design-led engineering consultancy is seeking a Fire Engineer to join their growing team. The organisation is recognised for delivering technically robust and sustainable solutions across a broad range of sectors within the built environment for Fire Engineers. This opportunity would suit a proactive Fire Engineer who enjoys a mix of technical design, analysis, and collaboration within multidisciplinary project teams.
Job Responsibility:
Assisting in the development of fire strategy designs across multiple sectors
Preparing detailed fire strategy reports using both prescriptive and performance-based approaches
Supporting fire engineering calculations, modelling, and analysis
Producing clear and concise technical documentation outlining design methodologies and outcomes
Attending site visits, project meetings, and design workshops
Coordinating with architects, contractors, and consultants to achieve compliant design solutions
Managing individual tasks to meet project deadlines and quality standards
Maintaining awareness of current UK fire safety regulations, standards, and emerging practices
Contributing to team knowledge sharing and ongoing professional development
Requirements:
Degree in Fire Engineering or a related discipline
Solid understanding of UK fire safety legislation and guidance
Experience or exposure to fire modelling and analytical tools
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Good organisational and problem-solving abilities
Nice to have:
Experience within a consultancy or similar environment
Progress towards Chartered status or membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. IFE or SFPE)
Familiarity with technical software used within fire engineering
