Job Description:

This is an excellent opportunity for a Fire Engineer to join the specialist Fire group in our Manchester office, to work on the design of some of the most exciting construction design projects in the UK and worldwide. The successful individual would work alongside fire engineering consultants and fire protection systems designers/engineers and undertake tasks for both fire engineering and design of fire protection systems.

Job Responsibility:

Carry out detailed fire engineering design and develop fire strategies
Fire hazard identification and fire risk assessment
Smoke control design and code compliance review
Work on the design of construction projects in the UK and worldwide

Requirements:

Educated to degree level in Fire Engineering or in a related discipline
Relevant experience in Fire Engineering design within a building services context (i.e. smoke control calculations, CFAST zone modelling, designing of sprinkler system etc)
Proven technical understanding in relevant design software
Excellent communication skills
Experience of using initiative to overcome challenges
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to manage your own time to meet deadlines
Appreciation of the commercial factors which affect design solutions

Nice to have:

Experience in using Technical Handbooks
Knowledge of fire suppression and fire alarm system
Experience across sectors such as Education, Commercial, Healthcare, Retail and Critical Systems, infrastructure
