Job Description

A leading global engineering consultancy is seeking a Fire Engineer to join their team. The Fire Engineer will work on a wide range of high-profile and complex projects across sectors including transport, healthcare, residential, commercial, and infrastructure. The Fire Engineer will play a key role in delivering innovative, performance-based fire safety solutions across both UK and international projects. The Fire Engineer will be responsible for delivering fire engineering consultancy from concept through to detailed design stages.

Job Responsibility

  • Developing comprehensive fire safety strategies for a variety of building and infrastructure projects
  • Reviewing designs to ensure compliance with relevant fire safety codes and standards
  • Undertaking fire and smoke modelling, including interpretation of simulation results
  • Managing fire engineering inputs across project lifecycles, ensuring delivery to time and budget
  • Supporting site activities including surveys, inspections, and stakeholder coordination

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline
  • Working towards or holding Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent)
  • Experience with fire and smoke modelling tools (CFD, evacuation models, zone modelling)
  • Strong knowledge of UK and international fire safety standards (e.g. NFPA, IBC)
  • Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience delivering performance-based fire engineering solutions
