CLC, part of Axis CLC, is a national maintenance and refurbishment provider. We are seeking an experienced Fire Door Supervisor, based from our Leeds office and covering the surrounding region, to oversee the safe, compliant and high-quality delivery of fire door installation, inspection and remediation works across our CLC projects. This role combines technical fire-door expertise, site supervision, quality assurance and strong client communication. You will play a key part in maintaining building safety, supporting contract delivery and strengthening our growing fire protection capabilities.
Job Responsibility:
Supervise fire door installations, inspections and remedial works across multiple live sites
Ensure all activity meets FIRAS / BM TRADA standards and wider fire protection legislation
Carry out fire door surveys, compartmentation inspections and site condition assessments
Undertake monthly audits of site documentation and fire protection records
Oversee operatives and subcontractors, ensuring safe systems of work are followed
Diagnose issues, specify remedial solutions and estimate timescales and skill requirements
Produce reports on robust details, measurements and scope for pricing and QS support
Ensure evidence of completed works is accurately captured (e.g., Bolster, Site Audit Pro)
Act as the on-site customer service lead, supporting clients and residents with professionalism
Ensure sites comply with all Health, Safety and Welfare legislation
Provide feedback on training needs for the fire protection team, ensuring competence is maintained
Attend contract, progress and client meetings as required
Support the continued growth and development of CLC’s fire protection service
Champion CLC’s standards, values and safety culture on every site
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Fire Door Supervisor or Fire Protection Site Supervisor
Strong knowledge of fire door installation, inspection and remediation methods
Understanding of fire stopping, compartmentation and passive fire measures
Working knowledge of FIRAS accreditation requirements and fire testing standards
Ability to complete accurate fire door and compartmentation surveys
Experience supervising operatives and subcontractors across multiple workstreams
Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe site operations
Competent in using digital evidence systems (e.g., Bolster, Site Audit Pro)
Strong communication and people-management skills
Ability to problem-solve, use initiative and work under pressure
Trade background (e.g., joinery) or equivalent technical knowledge
SSSTS
NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry/Joinery or relevant trade discipline
Full UK driving licence
Ability to travel to multiple sites within the region
Enhanced DBS check required
Nice to have:
FIRAS accreditation (or willingness to achieve this)
Fire protection qualifications (e.g., passive fire training, BM TRADA modules)
SMSTS
NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry/Joinery or relevant trade discipline
Asbestos Awareness
Previous experience in social housing, healthcare, education or similar environments
