Job Description:

Our important client based in Brussels is currently looking for a Finops Practitioner for a 12-month contract. Day rate is negotiable. Hybrid role with ability to come onsite every month but at the very least once a month. We are looking for a FinOps Practitioner to manage and optimize cloud costs across a multi-cloud environment. You will drive cloud financial governance, budgeting, and cost optimization while acting as the bridge between finance, engineering, and procurement teams.

Job Responsibility:

  • Monitor, analyse, and optimise cloud usage and costs across multiple providers
  • Implement cost optimisation strategies (reserved/spot instances, autoscaling, rightsizing)
  • Define and enforce financial governance (tagging, cost allocation, budgets)
  • Build and manage cloud budgets, forecasts, and chargeback/showback models
  • Produce clear cost and usage reports for technical and executive stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with Belgian and EU financial and reporting regulations
  • Promote FinOps best practices through training and collaboration with teams
  • Leverage FinOps tools and automation for monitoring, anomaly detection, and reporting
  • Integrate FinOps into CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code processes
  • Support procurement in contract negotiations and discount strategies

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in FinOps
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner and FinOps Certified FOCUS Analyst (FinOps Foundation)
  • Proven experience with cloud and SaaS budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience with at least two hyperscalers (Azure required)
  • Experience implementing chargeback or showback models
  • Fluent in English (C1)
  • Available for on-site presence in Brussels at least once per month

Nice to have:

  • Strong experience with tagging and cost allocation standards
  • Ability to design automated dashboards and reporting
  • Proven track record of delivering cloud cost savings
  • Experience working with procurement and enterprise agreements
  • Ability to train and embed FinOps practices across teams
