The Scraper Operator is responsible for safely operating self-propelled or towed scraper equipment to excavate, load, haul, spread, and level earth or materials on Arizona construction sites. This position supports grading and site preparation activities while complying with company policies, OSHA standards, and Arizona safety requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Operate scraper equipment to cut, load, haul, spread, and level soil, aggregate, or other materials
Read and follow grade stakes, site plans, and supervisor instructions
Coordinate work with dozer, push tractor, and haul equipment operators
Perform daily pre-operation inspections in accordance with company and AZ jobsite requirements
Conduct basic preventive maintenance and keep equipment clean
Identify, report, and document mechanical or safety concerns immediately
Maintain safe work zones and follow all Arizona jobsite safety rules
Meet production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Proven experience in 613 scraper operation
Valid Arizona driver’s license required
Familiarity with OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926)
Ability to read grade stakes, blueprints, and site plans
Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment
Frequent climbing on and off heavy machinery
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
Must work outdoors in Arizona weather conditions, including extreme heat, dust, and uneven terrain
Must comply with all company safety policies and procedures
Required use of PPE at all times
