Job Description

The Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Senior Manager will play a key leadership role in advising clients on complex accounting matters, SEC reporting, and financial transformation initiatives. This position partners directly with client executives, leads engagement teams, and develops practical solutions to address technical accounting challenges while helping organizations enhance the effectiveness of their financial reporting processes.

Job Responsibility

  • Advise clients on complex technical accounting matters under US GAAP and/or IFRS and prepare accounting position papers and related documentation
  • Lead financial reporting initiatives including financial close, consolidations, and preparation of financial statements
  • Support SEC reporting and public registration efforts, including S-1, S-3, and S-4 filings and public company readiness initiatives
  • Guide clients through implementation of new accounting standards (e.g., revenue recognition, lease accounting, CECL), including transition and remediation efforts
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes across order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, hire-to-retire, and record-to-report cycles
  • Analyze complex financial data, evaluate business issues, and deliver strategic recommendations to senior client stakeholders
  • Manage engagement teams, oversee project plans and deliverables, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Build strong client relationships, mentor team members, and contribute to business development activities including proposals and new client opportunities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • 7+ years of relevant experience across consulting, financial reporting, technical accounting, internal audit, or assurance
  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS and SEC reporting requirements
  • Background in public company readiness and regulatory reporting is strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to lead client engagements, manage teams, and deliver complex projects
  • Demonstrated success building client relationships and supporting business development initiatives
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • CPA license strongly preferred

  • Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, Tax, People, and Product to evaluate accounting implications of new products, contracts, and strategic initiatives
  • Support external financial reporting, including preparation and review of disclosures, footnotes, and tie-outs for quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Play a key role in IPO readiness activities, including S-1 preparation, SEC comment responses, and coordination with external advisors
  • Liaise with external auditors on technical accounting positions, ensuring issues are identified early and resolved efficiently
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support a public-company operating model
  • Identify accounting and reporting risks proactively and recommend solutions that balance technical compliance with business practicality
  • Provide review, coaching, and mentorship to junior team members, elevating overall team capability and execution quality
