Job Description

Working as a Full-time Financial Reporting & Regulatory Compliance Accountant, you will enjoy the opportunity to participate in an energetic work environment helping the company comply with its foreign statutory obligations and accounting for Fastenal's world-wide locations. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

Job Responsibility

  • Maintaining global process and oversight of legal entity statutory accounting, reporting and audit processes (internal & external) and ensuring accurate filings comply with local statutory requirements and deadlines
  • Driving continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, effectiveness and control of processes related to international statutory accounting, reporting and auditing
  • Designing and implementing statutory policy, procedures and reporting to standardize, simplify, automate and centralize internal and external financial reporting processes
  • Preparing legal entity financial statements and financial disclosures
  • Establishing and documenting timelines and communicating this information to internal and external partners
  • Assisting with monthly, quarterly and annual accounting period close activities including reconciliations and account analysis
  • Performing analysis and review of financial and operational data prepared internally and by external advisors
  • Participating in development projects, planning, testing and implementation
  • Performing special projects and other administrative tasks as necessary

Requirements

  • Possess or are working towards a degree in an Accounting, Finance or a related degree OR have relevant work experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Willingness to manage results driven projects
  • Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
  • Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
