As our new IGI Coordination & Accounting Controls Officer, you are more than just a numbers expert; you are the vital link between back-offices, IT, and management.
Job Responsibility:
Perform in-depth audits on the use of internal accounts (suspense accounts, active accounts, etc.) and validate the consistency between individual entries and the general ledger
Prepare monthly reports, monitor strict closing deadlines, and ensure reconciliation across various reporting systems
Analyze trends and developments within the data, monitor accuracy and completeness, and proactively intervene in the event of discrepancies by contacting the relevant Back-Offices
Actively participate in projects to improve administrative procedures, internal control measures, and system changes (such as new legislation or IT implementations)
Support the compilation of internal and external financial reports with a view to delivering the annual accounts
Translate new laws and regulations into specific system requirements and contribute to the harmonization of information flows
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Accounting, or a related field
At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within a banking environment
In-depth knowledge of Bank Accounting is essential
Expert in MS Office, specifically in Excel and Access
Fluent in Dutch, French, and English (professional-level proficiency in all three is a requirement)
Highly accurate and possess strong analytical skills
Problem-solver who can work autonomously while also being a true team player
Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for risk management and organizational sensitivity
