We are looking for a Financial Reporting Manager to join a contract engagement supporting a high-impact financial reporting improvement initiative. In this role, you will evaluate current reporting methods, strengthen the reliability of financial data, and help create more consistent processes across corporate finance and plant operations. This position is well suited for someone who is detail oriented and excels at simplifying complex reporting structures, enhancing spreadsheet-based tools, and building practical solutions that improve accuracy and efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Evaluate existing corporate financial reporting workflows, files, and tools to identify inefficiencies, control gaps, and opportunities for improvement
Redesign and rebuild complex Excel-based reporting models to increase clarity, accuracy, maintainability, and ease of use
Map financial data flows across multiple systems and reporting sources to support more reliable and standardized outputs
Partner with finance leadership and plant controllers to align reporting inputs, definitions, and deliverables across locations
Review chart of accounts structures, validate account usage, and support initiatives that improve consistency in financial reporting
Help develop updated corporate reporting formats and assist with the implementation of supporting technology solutions
Resolve reporting challenges tied to hard-coded formulas, overly complex spreadsheet logic, fragmented consolidation practices, and limited legacy documentation
Create documentation, procedures, and practical playbooks that promote standardized accounting and reporting practices for plant finance teams
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience managing financial reporting processes and preparing financial statements in a corporate environment
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to build, audit, troubleshoot, and optimize complex spreadsheet models
Strong knowledge of GAAP or US GAAP and familiarity with monthly, annual, statutory, or SEC-related financial reporting
Hands-on experience with data mapping, chart of accounts review, and reporting standardization across multiple entities or locations
Ability to work effectively with corporate finance leaders, controllers, and operational accounting teams in a collaborative setting
Strong analytical, process improvement, and problem-solving skills with the ability to organize complex reporting environments
Experience in manufacturing, plant accounting, or other multi-location business structures is preferred
Background creating documentation such as standard operating procedures, policies, or reporting playbooks is a plus
