Jeff Abrams with Robert Half is looking for a skilled Financial Reporting Manager to oversee comprehensive fund-level accounting, reporting, and compliance for real estate investment vehicles. This role offers an exciting intersection of finance, operations, asset management, and investor relations, requiring a combination of technical accounting expertise and real estate fund knowledge. As a key contributor, you will collaborate with senior leadership, external advisors, and stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to regulatory standards.
Job Responsibility:
Manage all fund-level accounting activities, including capital calls, distributions, management fees, carried interest, and partner allocations
Review and approve quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP and investment company accounting standards
Ensure accurate calculations of net asset value (NAV) and provide timely investor capital account statements
Supervise and guide third-party fund administrators, ensuring accuracy in journal entries, reconciliations, and financial documentation
Develop and oversee quarterly and annual investor reporting packages, including detailed financial statements and performance data
Coordinate responses to investor inquiries, collaborating closely with the investor relations team
Lead annual fund audits and act as the primary liaison with external auditors
Work with tax advisors to ensure accurate preparation of tax returns, K-1s, and compliance with partnership agreements
Monitor and enhance internal controls over financial reporting to maintain compliance with governing documents and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with asset management teams to ensure accurate reporting from property-level investments and alignment with fund-level data
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate accounting or finance
Proficiency in U.S. GAAP and investment company accounting standards
CPA preferred
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience in Yardi as a plus
Previous experience in investment management or private equity environments is highly desirable
Strong analytical and organizational abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects effectively
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interface professionally across departments
Expertise in interpreting complex commercial lease agreements and real estate documentation
Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
