Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Financial Reporting Manager to join a team in Overland Park, Kansas on a Contract basis. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance specialist with strong expertise in external reporting, technical accounting deliverables, and public company filing standards. The successful candidate will help drive accurate, timely financial reporting while supporting critical reporting cycles and documentation through Workiva.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual external financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable reporting standards
  • Manage SEC filing activities, coordinating schedules, supporting documentation, and final deliverables for required submissions
  • Oversee the development of earnings per share calculations and related disclosures, confirming alignment with reported financial results
  • Produce annual financial reporting materials, including footnotes and supporting schedules, for internal review and external filing purposes
  • Use Workiva to organize reporting content, maintain documentation links, and streamline collaboration across the reporting process
  • Partner with accounting and finance stakeholders to gather data, validate reporting inputs, and resolve issues affecting published results
  • Review disclosures and presentation formats to improve clarity, consistency, and adherence to regulatory expectations
  • Support special financial reporting projects and process updates tied to evolving business or compliance needs

Requirements

  • Proven experience in financial reporting within a public company or similarly regulated reporting environment
  • Strong background in SEC reporting, including preparation or review of periodic filings and supporting disclosures
  • Hands-on experience with Workiva is required for this position
  • Solid understanding of earnings per share calculations and annual reporting requirements
  • Ability to interpret financial data accurately and present information in a clear, compliant format
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced reporting cycle
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with accounting, finance, and leadership teams
