15 or more years of progressive experience in financial reporting, accounting, or related finance leadership roles
At least 10 years of experience within insurance, financial services, or another highly regulated industry
Prior experience with a Big Four or nationally recognized audit or advisory firm is strongly preferred
Deep knowledge of financial reporting, statutory reporting, and accounting principles applicable to external reporting environments

Job Responsibility

Manage statutory and financial reporting activities within a regulated environment, maintaining compliance with industry-specific accounting requirements
Analyze earnings-per-share calculations and other key reporting metrics to support reliable external financial communication

Job Responsibility

Prepare consolidated financial statements, including drafting initial financials and MD&A
Handle technical accounting matters, working closely with the team in Mexico to ensure appropriate accounting treatment across entities
Manage the corporate budgeting process, including building budgets and monitoring budget vs. actuals with clear variance analysis
Support treasury activities such as cash flow monitoring and overall liquidity management
Work on corporate tax returns and support the implementation of tax planning strategies between Canada and Mexico
Oversee day-to-day corporate accounting to ensure accuracy and timely reporting
