Job Description

The Financial Reporting and Control team are growing in response to the demands of a fast-growing business and an increasingly demanding control and governance environment. The team are ultimately responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of Company numbers both internally and externally. This role provides an opportunity to work in the heart of a fast-evolving and dynamic business, reporting accurate numbers and driving control change. The successful candidate will be a key player in the Financial Reporting and Control team as well as the wider finance function of a thriving FTSE-250 Company. Driving the accuracy and timeliness of corporate reporting, internally and externally, this individual will live in the heart of the business.

Job Responsibility

  • Own the delivery and evolution of accounting, reporting and finance processes for cloud and consumption-based revenue & cost recognition
  • Assist the Group Finance Manager in the overall leadership and development of the Financial Reporting team
  • Providing timely and accurate: management accounts, variance analysis, Balance sheet assurance and Key controls directly and via members of the financial reporting and Cloud Billing teams
  • Act as the accounting and reporting workstream lead in the End-to-End Cloud Billing project
  • Provide appropriate support to stakeholders / projects across Softcat with the design and implementation of new/change initiatives

Requirements

  • Over two years' post-qualification experience in industry, with a recognised accounting qualification
  • Strong technical accounting and analytical skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex topics
  • Demonstrable experience in driving process improvement
  • Confidence working with large datasets and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong finance system and process review aptitude
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and motivate others
