Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Finance Implementation Team Leader on behalf of a world-wide Financial Institution/Bank. In this leadership role, you will head the local Finance Implementation Projects (FIP) team in Lisbon, taking strategic and operational ownership of the large-scale roll-out of the One Financial System and a harmonized Finance Operating Model.

Job Responsibility

  • Orchestrate, oversee, and guarantee the successful execution of critical interface projects
  • Steer the development of functional solutions connecting business operating systems with finance systems
  • Lead, mentor, and organize the daily activities of the local FIP business analysts' team
  • Ensure the team strictly adheres to project management frameworks and methodologies
  • Monitor project timelines, critical paths, and budgets
  • Lead the definition of strategic workarounds whenever risks or blockers arise
  • Actively participate in project committees, present decision-making status reports, and coordinate corporate actions
  • Oversee and validate operational/accounting schemes, framework controls, and complex data flow structures
  • Ensure high-quality functional specification documentation is delivered to downstream engineering teams
  • Approve and manage changes to the chart of accounts
  • Synchronize tasks across multiple cross-functional stakeholders to secure timely global deliveries
  • Define and supervise the overall testing strategy
  • Manage and prioritize incoming support requests and interface evolutions in project mode

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Proven experience in a leadership, coordinator, or senior consultant role within the Banking Industry, Accounting, or Financial Project Management
  • Strong mastery of Project Management frameworks and governance
  • Deep understanding of Financial Information Systems and advanced MS Excel skills
  • Solid knowledge of banking products or capital markets products
  • Expertise in general accounting and/or banking accounting
  • English: Expert / Fluent level (C1 minimum)
  • Portuguese: Practical / Working knowledge (B2 level)
  • Leadership and team management abilities
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong results-driven mindset
  • Strategic problem-solving capabilities
