BlackRock Luxembourg’s Financial Crime Compliance function is committed to protecting the firm’s reputation and ensuring the highest standards of regulatory compliance. This role will support the Head of Luxembourg Financial Crime Compliance and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for the coverage of the retail (UCITS) Luxembourg domiciled funds, in managing the firm’s AML/CTF framework, with a particular focus on high-risk client escalations, oversight of delegated AML functions, and advisory support to the business.
Job Responsibility:
Act as a point of contact for financial crime queries related to complex transactions and high-risk client onboardings, including PEPs and other heightened risk factors, as well as sanctions
Review all high-risk investor escalations from the Transfer Agent and assist with the internal approval process
Assist with the investigation and filing of suspicious activity/transactions in line with internal procedures and CSSF requirements
Support the implementation and maintenance of the AML/CTF monitoring and testing program, with a focus on Luxembourg Transfer Agents and other relevant delegates
Perform AML-CTF risk assessments for Luxembourg Management Companies and associated-domiciled funds, incorporating BlackRock’s global methodology and local regulatory requirements
Assist in the development and maintenance of country and fund-specific financial crime policies and procedures as necessary
Provide technical advice and training to internal senior stakeholders on AML, sanctions, fraud, and anti-bribery and corruption risks
Prepare management information and regulatory reports and assist with local audit requests
Partner with business and operational teams to ensure compliance with Luxembourg AML/CTF laws and CSSF circulars
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external service providers, including Transfer Agents and auditors
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business, or a related field
2–4 years of experience in AML/CTF or financial crime compliance within financial services
Very good knowledge of the Luxembourg fund industry and understanding of Transfer Agent activity
Excellent knowledge of local anti-money laundering laws rules and regulations in particular circulars and laws issued by the CSSF as relates to AML/CFT e.g. CSSF Regulation 12-02, AML Law of 12 November 2004, 4th and 5th AML Directive and subsequent changes
Experience in conducting AML risk assessments, monitoring, and testing/oversight of AML delegates
Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and deliver to tight deadlines
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills
Fluent in English

Familiarity with sanctions screening, anti-fraud, and anti-bribery programs
