Job Description:

At British Sugar, finance is at the heart of everything we do. Through our sugar manufacturing process, we support key decision making across a number of core and by-products. As a Level 3 Finance Apprentice, you’ll develop a solid foundation in financial reporting, controllership, technical accounting and governance. You’ll provide structured support to the Financial Controllership team whilst working toward a professional finance qualification (AAT).

Job Responsibility:

  • Gain experience in core financial activities – e.g. balance sheet reconciliation, audit preparation, journal entries
  • Collation and analysis of financial data to support statutory and management reporting
  • Support automation and continuous improvement across the function
  • Ensure financial controls and internal control frameworks are maintained

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Level 5/C or above which must include Maths, English and a Science
  • An ability to prioritise and communicate effectively, with great team work skills
  • Understanding of compliance and business ethics, passion for continued learning and development
  • Willing and able to work in Peterborough or relocate to one of the following manufacturing sites: Wissington, Bury St Edmunds, Cantley, or Newark, during or after the programme (dependent on role availability)
