Elsewhen is a fast-growing Digital Product Consultancy that now needs to enhance its Finance team with an experienced and qualified Financial Controller. You will take day‑to‑day ownership of all aspects of the company’s financial operations, playing a key role in driving operational efficiency, improving profit margins and protecting the company’s financial health. You will have strong technical skills and attention to detail and a commercial understanding of contractual arrangements. You will work closely with the Finance Director, the Operations team and the Leadership Team.
Job Responsibility:
Driving the production of accurate, meaningful and timely management and financial accounts
Measuring and reporting profitability and other key performance indicators
Payroll and tax compliance, including IR35 processes and R&D claims
Managing cash flows, maximising returns on cash deposits and mitigating credit risk
Supporting the budgeting process and projecting and reporting financial results
Ensuring the time recording system is complete, accurate and up to date
Supporting Operations in creating proposals, setting client billing and reporting methodologies and generating data for invoicing and client reports
Ensuring business risks are appropriately mitigated through insurance and other means
The supervision and development of the Finance Team and financial governance of the company, including audit, policies and procedures
Requirements:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
At least 2 years’ experience as a Financial Controller in a business that operates a time recording system
Commercially focused with an ability to interpret contractual obligations
Practical experience in extracting, manipulating, analysing and interpreting data
Strong technical, analytical and Excel skills, comfortable operating in a hands-on environment, and confident providing insight and challenge at senior leadership level
Well-organised, resilient, and proven ability to deliver accurate reporting to demanding deadlines
Experience in managing and developing finance teams
Excellent communication skills – listening, understanding and explaining orally and in writing
