Job Description

As the Financial Controller, you'll be at the heart of our client's finance function. You'll take ownership of the numbers, help shape financial strategy, and work closely with operational teams to drive performance. Job Responsibility

  • Producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts
  • Leading budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Managing cash flow and working capital
  • Preparing year-end accounts and liaising with auditors
  • Handling VAT returns, payroll, and statutory submissions
  • Supporting operational teams with financial insights and analysis
  • Improving financial controls and processes
  • Driving cost analysis and margin improvement initiatives
  • Getting stuck into ERP system improvements and data integrity
  • Potentially mentoring junior finance staff

Requirements

  • Solid experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing finance and cost accounting
  • Confident with Excel and accounting software
  • Great attention to detail and a proactive mindset
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Clear communicator who can build strong relationships across the business

Nice to have

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Experience with ERP systems like Sage, SAP, or Oracle
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing business or SME environment
