We are seeking a highly capable and commercially astute Financial Controller to oversee the full spectrum of financial operations for a leading public listed company. This role carries significant visibility, with direct reporting to the CEO and Board, and is critical in ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial leadership. The successful candidate will lead finance operations, ensure timely and accurate Bursa reporting, and drive finance transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency, controls, and business insights.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee end-to-end finance operations, including financial reporting, general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, treasury, taxation, and fixed assets
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
Provide strategic financial insights and analysis to support business decision-making
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across the group
Ensure full compliance with Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements and other regulatory standards
Oversee preparation and submission of quarterly results, annual reports, and other statutory disclosures
Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and relevant stakeholders
Monitor changes in financial reporting standards (e.g., MFRS) and ensure timely adoption
Strengthen internal controls, financial governance, and compliance frameworks across the organization
Work closely with internal audit and the Audit Committee to address control gaps and audit findings
Ensure robust risk management practices are embedded within finance operations
Safeguard company assets and ensure proper financial stewardship
Drive finance transformation initiatives, including process optimization, automation, and system enhancements (e.g., ERP upgrades)
Champion digitalization and data-driven reporting to improve efficiency and decision-making
Standardize financial processes and implement best practices across business units
Lead change management initiatives within the finance function
Act as a key finance business partner to the CEO and Board of Directors
Present financial performance, key risks, and strategic insights at Board and committee meetings
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business growth and operational excellence
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent are required
Minimum 12–15 years of relevant experience, with at least 5–7 years in a senior finance leadership role
Prior experience in a public listed company environment is essential
Strong hands-on experience in Bursa Malaysia reporting and compliance
Proven track record in finance transformation and process improvement initiatives
Deep knowledge of: Financial reporting standards (MFRS/IFRS)
Corporate governance and regulatory compliance
Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Experience in managing external auditors, regulators, and board-level stakeholders
