Job Responsibility:
Take full ownership of our finance function, delivering accurate and commercially meaningful financial information to support business growth and decision-making
Manage day-to-day finance operations using Xero, overseeing bookkeeping, payroll and credit control while ensuring accurate financial data and robust accounting processes
Produce monthly management accounts, maintain balance sheet integrity, manage reconciliations and ensure financial reporting accurately reflects the operational performance of the business
Strengthen financial systems and controls, implementing scalable processes, and supporting project teams with financial oversight to protect profitability and improve commercial performance
Oversee project costing and monitor margins
Manage rolling cash-flow forecasts and maintain visibility of debtors, creditors and work-in-progress (WIP)
Lead annual budgeting and periodic reforecasting to support business planning
Develop and monitor KPIs aligned with operational and commercial performance
Act as the primary liaison with external accountants, supporting year-end accounts and tax processes
Ensure compliance with VAT requirements and relevant statutory reporting obligations
Requirements:
To be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), part-qualified and actively progressing towards qualification, or qualified by experience in a similar finance leadership role
Experience working as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager
Experience with bookkeeping, payroll and credit control
Experience using Xero accounting software
Experience with financial forecasting and modelling to support business growth
A strong understanding of project accounting, WIP and cost control
